Configuring a finAPI Sandbox or Production environment

Configuring a finAPI Sandbox or Production environment

Background: to access a finAPI environment, we require client credentials assigned by finAPI to us. The respective client credentials are stored encrypted in the configuration settings of a mandator.

Adding the finAPI client credentials

Mandator configuration is an administrative operation with potentially high impact, and thus requires role ROLE_MANDATOR_ADMIN. This role has very strict need-to-know and thus must be granted extremely selectively.

The mandator configuration interface is found in the “Administration” section of the v1 user interface.

This will show you a list of mandators. Select the mandator you would like to configure and select the option “configure” via the “Konfigurieren” Button.

In the “configure” screen you now have the option to update the client credentials as shown below. Overwrite or set the values with the new configuration settings. This should give users of this mandator access to the chosen finAPI instance.

Once client credentials are set up, all further configuration is done via the “FinApi Client configuration” option.

This provides you the ability to

  • upload PSD2 QWAC and QSeal certificates

  • add individual configuration for banks as needed
